The origin of this grape is controversial: from the distant city of Shiraz in Persia or from the city of Syracuse in Sicily? What is certain is the current place of cultivation, the Rhone Valley in France, from where it spread as well as in central and southern Italy, in Australia, considered the second home of this prestigious grape.
Cultivation area: Valle del Belice - Sicilia Occidentale
Vinification: Selection of the best Syrah grapes harvested in boxes upon reaching optimal ripeness; transfer to the cellar, soft de-stemming and crushing and sending to the stainless steel fermentation tanks at controlled temperature with the addition of selected yeasts, the maceration lasts about 10 days after which, after a soft pressing, the wine is sent into tanks of cement where malolactic fermentation takes place.
Aging: After about 8-10 months it is bottled and left to rest for at least 2 months in bottle before being put on the market.
Color: Intense ruby red.
Hint: It has a characteristic and lively scent of undergrowth fruits with spicy notes of tobacco, eucalyptus and sage.
Taste: Warm and dry, balanced in its wide structure.
